New Moon in Aquarius - Prioritizing The Future 🚀

We have officially made it beyond the first eclipse season of 2019 and boy what a party that was! January seemed to fly by with intensity as transit after transit hit us in ways that shifted the dynamic, initiated the reality of these new conditions, and set us up with a lot of fodder to plan our future trajectory by. It was a hard month in many ways as the signature of Capricorn energy can be quite dense, with the feeling as if there is considerable weight on our shoulders. We were sent to climb that proverbial mountain, with tests of integrity administered along the way, and if we passed successfully, we were likely to have found ourselves in a new world of substance - a place in which we can now formulate our unfolding stories into a fixed point of ideal vision, motivated by the desire to upgrade our consciousness and go beyond where we have been up until this point.

Aquarius energy in general is about bringing wisdom down to Earth, as the waters of conscious flow trickle down to inform us of what is in need of change, improvement, and upgrade. This fixed air energy pushes us to raise higher by following the guiding wind of high ideals and utopian vision, with the necessity at times to revolt and rebel against the status quo. Evolution is the ultimate goal of the Aquarian energy, and if we fail to "raiser higher" in Aquarius, we will not be able to transcend once Pisces season rolls around.

Exact on Monday, February 4th at 1:04pm PST - this New Moon is ushering in energy that is here to prioritize the future, and bring to our awareness what is in need of fixing before we can reform our personal lives and the collective planet into a higher way of being. This lunar cycle will be pushing forward a demand for invention, innovation, and the communications that will be necessary to augment our conditions towards an improved and stable reality.

The Aspects - A New Vision Of Belonging 🦄

Below is a chart of our New Moon at the time of conjunction here in San Diego, CA. We have a unique chart here - perfect for Aquarius! - as there is some subtlety to the transits and some blatancy, with our lunation ruler Saturn in a sextile with Neptune yet Mars just blazed past a square with Pluto and is headed to conjunct Uranus around the time of First Quarter. This is bound to be an eventful lunar month with the signatures ahead, so let's not waste time and jump right in...

Let's start with our New Moon ruler, which traditionally is our stern, yet devoted friend Saturn in Capricorn. At the time of the conjunction, Saturn is making the first sextile to Neptune, in what will be a yearlong dance as Saturn creates opportunities to ground this dreamy, and inspirational force while Jupiter does his own dance of squaring the energy to see just how big we can dream and where the actual limit is. Spoiler Alert: That is where Saturn comes in!

Saturn is all about limits, boundaries, and the reality of what is capable on this physical plane - and of course the work that is involved in the process. Jupiter is stirring up all the possibilities with his sextile to this New Moon lunation; revving us up for action as we consider all the various ways we can grow at this time, with the overzealous potential of stumbling down paths that may distract us from the true growth that is calling for transition. I have a feeling our upcoming Full Moon at 0° Virgo will be bringing the need for that discernment in a very real way, yet for now we are in the midst of all the options that are currently unfolding before us.

As Aquarius is a futuristic energy, we are creating a new - or shall we say upgraded - vision of where we belong moving forward, and fixating on that direction. Mercury had just made his superior conjunction to the Sun less than a week prior, and with that a clarity rained down on where our story is headed to next within what we see for ourselves even years down the road. The entertainment of big commitments are underway, and we may feel compelled to act rather quickly on this new consciousness that is streaming in, yet we have to be aware of the potential for blindspots as Mercury is moving at a lightening speed and is still in combustion with the Sun, so the messenger may not be entirely clear for a few weeks to come. Yet I think there is a beauty in the potential naivety of a dream, and with the current energy, it seems quite right to entertain that vision.

As far as blazing ahead is concerned, it would be foolish not to notice Mars in Aries inching towards a conjunction with the Great Awakener, Uranus. This meeting will happen at the critical 29° of Aries in little over a week's time, signifying that our action energy, what we are personally driven to do, is going to get a jolt of electricity that can bring about fast and unexpected change or some sort of turnaround our way. As this is happening in the self-involved sign of the Ram, and is the last planet to make a conjunction with Uranus before this slow mover officially moves into Taurus for good, we can look at this as a kick-off or an initiation that was most likely a long time coming, but was waiting for this storm surge of energy to liberate us into a new cycle. As this is happening within the bounds of Saturn, we must answer the call of the longterm and our personal authority is likely to be tested. Fresh starts are now underway with the potential for dramatic shifts or reversals to take place.

Chiron is also about to enter Aries around the upcoming Full Moon for his elongated stay in the area that Uranus is now wrapping up in. With Venus trining Uranus and squaring Chiron a few days prior to this New Moon, we are opening up to heal and transcend old emotional wounds that are keeping us from fully being free within our individual selves and the ability to take the initiative in ways that cultivate harmonious conditions in our life's story. We are coming out of our shells with the desire for new experiences and transitions in belief. This adaptable energy will be crucial for us to make a strong, fresh start in stabilizing the ideas for the future and the willingness to upgrade our systems to version 2.0.

We can look at this authoritative man as our own inner executive, the wo/man that sits at the head of our psyche's board and calls the shots, deciphering what is of priority and making the decisions necessary to implement and carry out those prerogatives to completion.

This symbol has the element of running your life like a business, with the need to get organized - polishing your skills, your overall efficiency, and the ability to organize and manage what is before you. A question that may bear asking is what do your priorities look like? Do they align with the overall vision of what you'd like to accomplish? Are you able to stay on top of things despite what unforeseen obstacles or emergencies come your way? How effective we are at maintaining our own authority may be what is highlighted at this time, as this inner competency will be the key to our future successes.
