Full Moon in Sagittarius - Karmic Good Fortune 🐴

Here we sit at the halfway point of 2019 and most of us are asking ourselves, where has this year gone?! There is a bit of a holding pattern in place as we have energies that are more of the visionary nature as we dream of the road that lies ahead, yet are still mired in the commitments and priorities that we have already assigned ourselves to. Luckily for us, a full lunation in Sagittarius is leading us into the pivotal summer eclipse season that is right around the corner, and shining emotional light on where we are to journey and grow next will be key to navigating the road ahead.

The Gemini / Sagittarius axis is one that pivots between the intellect processing our life experiences and through that analysis we then subscribe to beliefs based on what we know. One is detached in its diagnosis, looking at the facts from all angles, where the other side taps into the passion that is behind that stored away knowledge, and at times the two can get in the way of one another - we overanalyze rather than taking in what we know and believe, or we blindly accept we are right in our understandings without rationally weighing the evidence. Mercury is all about the bits and pieces that make up the whole, where Jupiter is the whole that tells Mercury to stop fussing over all the parts, for it may be missing the big picture.

Exact on Monday, June 17th at 1:31am PDT - we have a lunation that is bringing both expansion and constriction, a paradox of energy that is necessary for the growth of our Spirit. Full moons tend to bring celebration and completion of an energy that has been growing for some time - particularly since the Sagittarius New Moon back on Dec 7th, 2018. So you can look back to that time to get clues into the favorable energy that has the moon shifting and adapting to new life experiences, with much change coming to a boil at this time. Life is providing us an opportunity to now move on.

The Aspects - Believing In Fortune 💰

Below is a chart of our Full Moon in Sagittarius at the time of opposition here in San Diego, CA. As you can see from the chart, we have a late degree moon which has made the majority of its aspects before the apex of fullness. Yet there is plenty which has seeded in along the way, namely the Jupiter / Neptune square and the pile-up of planets that are caught between an intense succession of transits taking place on the Cancer / Capricorn axis, and which are setting the stage for the upcoming eclipse season. So let's not waste any time and dive right in...

Let us start with our Full Moon ruler Jupiter - a benefic planet that is known for its expansive and generous tendencies, with a Jupiterian nature that leads to luck and good fortune. Yet it would be irresponsible to label this planet as only such, for it can bring the good things in life, but more importantly it brings to us growth. Sometimes growth is painful, or feels restricting, for we find ourselves in what I call "Karmic Good Fortune" - where sometimes our best fortune comes in ways that are not immediately apparent.

With Mercury and Mars joining in a 3-part conjunction sitting on the North Node, trining into Neptune in Pisces and making oppositions to Saturn, Pluto and the South Node, these are not necessarily times for the faint of heart. Yet I believe it is leading us somewhere better, even if in the moment it doesn't feel like it now, we still have to believe and have faith that regardless of what we see in the present, there is a more optimistic future that lies ahead. Hence the karma portion, for that pile-up in Capricorn does take on a karmic flavor that brings restrictions and presents situations that ask us to purify, release, and pivot towards initiating changes of heart, as we follow our emotional flow and align with how we feel rather than stuffing these valuable indicators away to be listened to at a later date. For what the gut is saying is of importance, yet we may ignore these signals out of prior obligations and that can set us up for a long hard fall if our efforts aren't aligned with the heart.

Life is morphing for both the personal and the collective at this time, and within such significant change, we have the power to create while we follow the hopes we hold for ourselves. This is a time to say yes to our overarching future visions, for many are guided by this ethereal knowing which is giving the impetus that calls us to create, explore, and experience that which we choose. Yet all that I mentioned just prior will be a consideration in making these dreams a reality, for emotional realignment will be necessary and our earthly agenda must restructure in order to bring in the fortune that we desire.

Now, even though the Moon has made all its aspects once it meets the Sun in opposition, it will actually go on to conjunct the Galactic Center of the zodiac - a point that sits around 26° of Sagittarius which is ascribed to the center of the Milky Way galaxy and what can be considered the Sun of our Sun. There is thought to be a huge black hole at the center of the Milky Way and this point is the main source of our gravitational pull - so when we think of the magnitude of this point, the larger than life nature of Sagittarius just got exponentially bigger. I like to think we are being pulled into a much larger scheme of things, as gravity redirects us to a birds eye view of our existence and what the overall mission for our lives hold.

Tapping into this larger cosmic view is the second pass of the Jupiter / Neptune square that perfects the day before the Full Moon, which is paired with the Saturn / Neptune sextile that arrives the day after. We are sandwiched between visions for the future and how to make that future a reality, for ideals can be hard to manifest in the material realm - particularly if a realistic plan is not yet in place that we can assign our efforts to. This speaks to the micro of our lives and the macro of the collective, for we are all feeling the need to shift yet the logistics may not have been worked out just yet. Luckily, following the full lunation and the Cancer / Capricorn triggers, Venus now in Gemini will go on to be the last personal planet to oppose Jupiter in Sag and square Neptune in Pisces, and I believe that a shot of good luck will be propelled our way, as we open and attract in new ideas and social connections that can help re-balance our equilibriums.

I find this an interesting symbol for a few reasons: 1. being that the lunation takes place just after Flag Day and 2. that this lunation is tied into the chart of the United States and our current political leader in strong ways, so this is a time where our flags are being raised to show what we are in allegiance to and what we stand for. Whenever a flag is bared, raised, or planted, this tends to signify a significant event as we are claiming or aligning with an agenda, cause, principle or belief... and at times we may not even be aware of the flag we are waving if we have stood under it for so long without questioning the purpose and meaning that is behind it.

I encourage us to ask ourselves at this time, what flag am I waving and who or what do I desire to stand with and take pride in? Rise up for what you believe and who you are, and have the courage to honor this knowing and to let what I affectionately call your "freak flag" fly. For it is now time to stake a claim and embody a bold honesty that states this is what I'm in alignment with, and this is what I will stand for.
