Full Moon in Scorpio - Merge & Renew 🐍

Phew! What a past few weeks!!! Good grief! I'm sure I'm not alone on this matter... the New Moon in Aries back on April 15th ushered us into a non-stop go-go-go state where many have felt as if there hasn't been a moment to come up for air. That seems rather fitting for a sign that is known as the warrior; the one who rushes in where angels fear to tread. We've all been tackling our own battles, and answering the call to be one's own hero in the midst of great shifts and challenges that come our way.

Now on to the apex of this energy, a healing and restorative Full Moon in Scorpio! Exact on Sunday, April 29th at 5:58pm PDST, this lumination is signaling a time of celebration and release as we conquer the many obstacles - physical and emotional - that have been testing our resolve for several weeks now. Not necessarily a light or graceful Full Moon with the intensity that the Scorpion can bring, however, it is one that will allow us to bring the darkest parts of us to light and help to heal and transmute the deepest and most intimate aspects of our interpersonal relationships.

The Aspects - Stabilizing Change ⚓️

Below is a chart for the moment of the Full Moon here in San Diego... and two things stick out to me immediately: the Sun in an exact trine to Saturn and the luminaries (the Sun & the Moon respectively) in a grand cross with the North and South Nodes of the Moon. So let's dive in...

First let's look at the Sun in Taurus making a trine to Saturn in Capricorn, two Earth signs that represent action here on the physical plane. Since a trine is a flowing energy that easily aligns and removes all blocks to move forward, this aspect allows us illumination in the areas of structure, responsibility, commitment, personal authority, and consolidation. Chances are, as the Full Moon rises, we will feel a page of our lives turning and with it our future plans unfolding before our eyes. By looking at your world with the utmost of practicality, you'll be able to constrict and discipline yourself where necessary for greater productivity and manifestation.

I find it very intriguing that the New Moon & Full Moon rulers for this lunar cycle are both Mars - in his daytime and nighttime domicile respectively. Mars energizes whatever it touches and can really bring the heat! There is no tip toeing around Mars energy... whether you are the exhibitor or the receiver of this vibration, it can lead to greater drive and motivation, yet also anger and volatility. Mars is also represented by the surgeon's knife, and since Scorpio is the land of boundaries, we may be drawing certain lines and cutting out from our lives what has proved to be toxic and not aligned with healthy future growth. However, such processes are not always easy, so this can lead to a Full Moon period that can be a little more heated than most. Especially since Mars just moved off of his conjunction with Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, which went exact this week. Intensity is the name of the game, and we have to move through it in order to renew ourselves into a fresh world of material possibilities and potentialities that match our inner integrity. Honesty and intention will be key.

With the Full Moon in a grand cross with the Nodes, this is another sign that through challenge and frustration we are activating big changes in our lives and moving ever more towards our soul's direction. This is not easy growth, it can be painful and traumatic, pitting self interest against that which is good for all. Refrain from pleasing others at the expense of yourself at this time. As they say... "If mama ain't happy, no one happy!" So be sure to put your needs first as you navigate these intimate waters of healing and change.

The moon is in a loose conjunction with Jupiter, also in Scorpio, as well as a trine to Neptune in Pisces and a midpoint inconjunct with Mercury and Venus. I have a feeling we will really start to feel the expansion of our new emotional outlooks on Monday as we settle into the week. Neptune will kick up our imaginations and we will be more sensitive than usually to the subtleties that surround us. This will allow for greater compassion with ourselves and others, which can help dissolve whatever emotions need releasing in order to bring greater hope and faith into the situations we are facing. Adjustments in the way we communicate and how we relate will bring out the most fruitful qualities of this moon.

Last but certainly not least, Uranus is sitting at the critical 29° of Aries and much of what we have been working on in the ways of character development over the last 8 years is being tested. This can be quite a rambunctious degree as whatever is left to be shaken up may become activated before the Great Awakener moves into Taurus on May 15th. Be on the lookout for catalysts that seem upsetting at first but provide opportunity to step into a freer more innovative version of yourself.

The connections we make with others take an integral role in our own personal development and this Full Moon can have us reaching out to those we haven't spoken to in a while and helping to reinforce bonds unaffected by time.

This can also point to a fated quality of relating, that which ties into past life connections or fated meetings of some sort. If you are meant to run into each other, it can certainly happen at this time! You can consider it a sign from the Universe that either the air needs to be cleared, or the rekindling of a key relationship will help provide the mutual support and resources necessary to move forward. Step out of the past and into the future, and be unafraid to face those you may have a sordid history with. This will help make way for a lighter spirit and true renewal.
